# Red Old-Lady Prompting Notes for Nano Banana 2

Session-specific notes for the bird-hair edits used in this chat.

## What worked

- Start from the source image and preserve the same subject identity.
- Lock the invariants explicitly:
  - same bird
  - same body shape
  - same beak
  - same eye
  - same pose
  - same framing
- Change only the hair / crest region.
- If the request is about a hairstyle, name the silhouette directly:
  - `brushing`
  - `bombé`
  - `fine strands`
  - `airy`
  - `old-lady perm`
  - `bouffant`
  - `soft curls`
- If the request is color-only, say:
  - `keep the exact same hairstyle shape, change only the color`
- If the request is shape-only, say:
  - `keep the red color, change only the silhouette`

## Useful prompt pattern

Example form that behaved better than generic inpaint wording:

> Photorealistic edit of the same bird, same body shape, same beak, same posture, same framing, same identity. Keep the exact same old-lady hairstyle shape, but change only the hair color to rich red. Do not change the curls, do not change the bird, do not change the face or body proportions.

For a brushed look, add:

- `more bombé and lifted`
- `soft brushing toward the back`
- `fine strands`
- `light airy volume`
- `slightly shorter` if you want the silhouette to stay compact

For a more aged look, add:

- `grayish-white perm`
- `silver-white curls`
- `classic older lady hairstyle`
- `neat soft curls`

## Workflow pattern

1. Generate one single test image first.
2. Check that the hair is actually being restyled, not erased.
3. If the result is good, vary only one property at a time:
   - length
   - curl tightness
   - bombé / volume
   - color
4. Make a contact sheet only after the first successful single-image result.
